Keeping your agriculture vehicle up and running is crucial for the success of your farming operation. Jaltest tools from Triad Diagnostic Solutions offer you the capabilities to read fault codes and make repairs, even while out in the field. These operational capabilities reduce repair time and increase your farming efficiency.
A common problem farmers run into is reduced engine power. With the right Jaltest equipment, you can detect these problems and make the necessary repairs. Improving your agriculture vehicle’s engine performance and power returns it to normal working conditions. To check the various fault codes responsible for reducing engine performance, follow this step-by-step guide to counter restart and verify the SCR system fault repair in the New Holland T7.
Step 1
To begin your fault code reading process, you’ll need to enter the correct electronic control unit for the model you’re working on. In this case, you’ll look for the engine “EDC 17 CV41 + Denox 2.2.”
Step 2
In the connections menu, you’ll see detailed information about how to connect to the system. Here, you can see some of the benefits of working with Jaltest. Your techs not only get a detailed step-by-step guide, but they also get visuals to accompany them.
Step 3
Once you’ve made your connection with the New Holland T7 agriculture vehicle, you’ll see a general diagnostics menu in the Jaltest software. Here, you can see every available action of the system, which may include:
-
- Reading and clearing fault codes
- Monitoring live data
- Running system checks
- Maintenance actions
And more.
Step 4
By selecting the Read Fault Codes, you can see all of the codes that are running errors. In this case, we see that most of these codes are related to the after-treatment system, causing reduced engine power.
Step 5
Another advantage of Jaltest is all the additional information the software provides, including wiring diagrams, which you can see here. You can find all of this information by selecting the Diagrams tab. In this portion of the module, you’ll be able to view the entire list of fault codes and find their location within the system. At this point, you’re ready to make repairs.
Step 6
Once you’ve made the necessary repairs, it’s time to inform the control unit that things have been fixed. To do that, you’ll need to perform the startup counter restart through the maintenance action you see depicted here.
Step 7
For the control panel to recognize your repairs, the electronic control unit allows three startups for 30 minutes at full power. If no fault codes are detected during that time, the control unit will be informed of all your repairs and maintenance changes.
Step 8
After you’ve completed the steps necessary to inform the control unit, you need to perform the SCR system fault repair verification to check the correct operation of the system. On this screen, you will see the necessary actions you must take to verify with the system.
Step 9
Finally, once you’ve informed the control unit and verified the SCR system fault repairs checks, you will see that all of the fault codes for the New Holland T7 have been deleted. This means your agriculture vehicle is back to full engine power and is ready for many more hours in the field.
