The Ford VCM3 is the official OEM diagnostic interface for use with Ford IDS or FDRS software. It enables full communication with Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles through the 16-pin OBDII port. Compatible with 1996–present models, the VCM3 supports diagnostics, programming, and service functions. Requires a separate IDS or FDRS software license for operation.
The VCM3 supports all 1996–present Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles and enables faster diagnostics with advanced protocols like CAN-FD and DoIP. Ideal for IDS and FDRS use, it includes a DLC cable, heavy-duty USB cable, and wireless adapter. Enhanced 802.11n wireless enables reliable reprogramming, while USB is only needed for firmware updates and CFR setup. Optional cable 164-R9806 allows VCM3 to function as a Customer Flight Recorder.
